Equipment

  • A medium mixing bowl
  • A whisk or spoon for mixing
  • An airtight container for storage

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup real mayonnaise
  • 3 tablespoons ketchup
  • 5 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce about 1 tablespoon and 2 teaspoons
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce like Frank’s
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper coarse
  • A pinch of celery salt optional, but adds a delightful flavor

Instructions

  • Combine Ingredients: In a medium bowl, add the mayonnaise, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, garlic powder, black pepper, and celery salt.
  • Mix Until Smooth: Use a whisk or spoon to mix everything together until it’s completely combined and smooth.
  • Let It Rest: For the best flavor, let the sauce rest in the refrigerator for at least 6 hours, but preferably 24 hours. This allows the flavors to meld beautifully.
  • Serve: Enjoy your Cane’s sauce as a dip or spread with your favorite dishes!

Notes

Advice on how to cook:
Take Fresh Ingredients: To get the best taste, choose fresh ingredients, especially spices.
Rest Time: Don’t forget to take a break! The sauce tastes better after being left to sit for a while.
Keeping and heating up:
How to Store It: Keep the sauce in the fridge in a jar that won’t let air in. It may last a week.
No Need to Reheat: There’s no need to warm up Cane’s sauce because it’s served cold.
How to Fix Problems
Too sour? You can make the sauce less sour by adding more mayonnaise or ketchup.
Not thick enough? You could add a little more mayonnaise if you’d like the sauce to be thicker.
